Seriously, this dog is completely blind.

Max had other adventures that day besides losing at quiz night. He had a lunch "date" with two of his students. Two of his buxom 19 year old students.

What was I doing while he laughed and chatted over Indian food? I was walking a blind dog named Bruja across Madrid in 90 degree weather. There's a metaphor for life in there somewhere.

But Dog Mike and I did stop by to ambush him. I was picking the dog up from a place very close to there. The girls were cute, though not the love goddesses I was expecting from Max's descriptions. He didn't exaggerate about the size of their breasts, though.

So the blind dog is sitting next to me, probably wanting to be taken out. Mike is supposed to show up soon with more dogs for me to watch and to take this one away. They will then be gone by next Sunday, only to be replaced by another dog or two on the following day, which will be here for pretty much all of July. This is how I'm paying my rent this summer. My school allegedly has some classes available also. I'm looking forward to working as little as possible, though.

Danielle was nice enough to bring me a bunch of books, which gives me adequate reading material for the summer. Max and Towely will be gone at a summer camp for basically all of July. I have grandiose plans to read "Remembrance of Things Past" this summer. For really real this time. Really. That and a bunch of computer books so that I can get a job.

According to various sources, getting a work permit for a computer job is pretty much guaranteed. We also heard of a language academy that helps Americans get work permits. They supposedly want two years of experience and a TEFL, though. Towely got an interview, but they apparently had problems when he taught a mock class. This means nothing, though. Max is applying, so we'll see how it goes.

The weather has generally been scorching and it doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. In fact, it's only supposed to get hotter. This is not really a problem as long as you don't leave the house in mid-day. Almost every apartment has shutters to block out the sun. That and the stone walls keep things comfortable. Though I'm planning on getting a fan eventually.
